Okay so I'm a little slow here in blog land, I'm bring it up to date I promise :)
As you hold your precious baby and begin the challenges of learning to breastfeed all seems wonderful!
Then the epidural wears off...and you can feel. Oh my can you feel down there again!
I don't like swallowing pills... but when they brought in those giant Motrin's... I swallowed those babies down like I was a long time pro! It is so sore... heck giving birth was easier then trying to sleep with the aching "down there" and the constant tightening of the uterus!
For me anyway, it seemed my bladder forgot how to say "I'm full!" It took about a week for it to get more like normal. I do think that having to deal with your own eww's & changing those huge pads is some how preparation for dealing with all those diapers... ;)
I took almost 3 months for things to stop being sore and achy down there.. but now we are all back to normal.
So I guess what I'm saying here is... labor isn't the most painful part!
So very true! Labor was absolutely horrendous for me because I wasn't planning on a natural birth but had one anyway along with 11 stitches down there. But, labor was over in a day. The next few months all really, really, REALLY sucked for me. Thank goodness my fiance was home from work for the first month to help care for me and the baby.
ReplyDeleteThe worst part for me afterwards was NOT BEING ABLE TO PEE!!! I tried and tried and couldn't go :( I had to be catheterized the night I gave birth, and almost had to the next day, but finally went. That's something no one ever tells you.
